GreenGo S.r.l., a Bologna-based company and leader in the development of renewable energy plants, proudly announces that it has obtained the Single Authorisation (Autorizzazione Unica) for the construction of the “Soparita” advanced agrivoltaic plant in the municipality of Vizzini (CT). The project, with a nominal capacity of 8.5 MW, represents the first plant entirely developed and managed by GreenGo as an IPP (Independent Power Producer) and one of the first application cases in Italy of advanced agrivoltaics.
To date, GreenGo has achieved a track record of 250 MW of authorised projects, including not only the permits issued but also the authorisation procedures successfully concluded at the Services Conference (Conferenza dei Servizi): 8 photovoltaic plants and a stand-alone BESS Storage plant.
These results, to which are added another 156 MW of solar power that have already obtained positive EIAs and will reach RTB in the first half of 2024, demonstrate the company’s concrete commitment to the energy transition through the promotion of advanced multi-tech solutions in the field of renewable energies, consolidating GreenGo’s position in the Italian green energy scene as a “Light IPP” towards the independent production of clean energy through the construction and management of proprietary plants.
“We have been waiting for this moment with trepidation,” says Fabio Amico, Business Development Director and member of GreenGo’s Board of Directors. “We were among the first to believe in advanced agri-voltaics, proposing the first projects with tracking systems at a height of more than two metres above ground level as early as 2021 to allow for the widest compatibility with agricultural production. Today, thanks to the final approval of the PNRR’s Call for Proposals for advanced agri-voltaics by the EU, we have gained an interesting competitive advantage on our RTB Ready to Build projects.
“GreenGo’s pipeline of projects has surpassed 100, diversifying both by technology and by region,” says Giovanna Lapiana, Head of Permit at GreenGo. “We now operate in 9 Italian regions, and thanks to a team of excellence we are able to develop permits such as the Soparita project in Sicily, which was achieved in less than two years. This is a result of great commitment and determination”.
